Employment Opportunity: Peer Research Associate (PRA)

The Canadian Aboriginal AIDS Network (CAAN), in collaboration with Pauktuutit Inuit Women of Canada, is seeking a Peer Research Associate (PRA) for the newly funded Aboriginal HIV & AIDS Community-Based Research Centre (AHA Centre). This position will be based at the Pauktuutit office in Ottawa Information exchange, research development and innovative knowledge-to-action are the cornerstones of the AHA Centre. This person will liaise with Inuit communities and community organizations. Made up of a collaboration of Aboriginal community-based researchers from across Canada, community-based research (CBR) initiatives will be supported through capacity building and access to the expertise of researchers across the country. Aboriginal and HIV & AIDS communities will be directly engaged in every aspect of the Centre and of central importance, duplication of resources and the work to produce them will be reduced. PRAs will play an integral role in supporting local AIDS Service Organizations.
