Inuit Women in Business Network

A separate but concurrent project is the Inuit Women in Business Network (IWBN), which is funded by Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada (AANDC). Pauktuutit’s initial needs assessment identified the need for peer-mentorship opportunities and greater peer-support. To meet this need the IWBN project seeks to allow women the chance to learn directly from one another’s experiences through building a formal network of Inuit women in business. This will include the full spectrum of Inuit businesswomen, from those who are just starting out to those who have successful and established businesses but who may still need ongoing training, professional development and peer support. While the project is beginning in Iqaluit as a pilot, the long-term goal of the project is to create a model that can be used in other regions and communities. For further information on these two projects, please refer to the IWBN factsheet.
