The Position:

Pauktuutit, as the national voice of Inuit women in Canada, has a key role to play in ensuring a gender-equality lens in policies impacting Inuit Women and in promoting greater progress in priority areas for Inuit women and children, across health and well-being, violence, and abuse prevention – safety, and socio-economic development. Our ability to do so depends heavily on partnerships across government departments, key funders, Inuit community groups and other stakeholder organizations.

We are seeking a skilled individual to fill the role of Grants Contributions and Knowledge Translation Manager. This role enables the capturing, tracking, and reporting of Pauktuutit’s Contribution Agreements and project data to support the team from inception to monitoring, evaluation, and reporting.

Working in collaboration with the leadership team, this role also delivers effective communication and knowledge strategies related to amplifying advocacy and knowledge mobilization. A creative approach to knowledge translation and an ability to engage target audiences will be vital in promoting organizational awareness and supporting policy leads in their projects.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Grants and contributions enablement:

  • Research, analyze, identify potential corporate/ foundation funders and develop new funder relationships in collaboration with the policy and communications management team.
  • Assist in composition of political and other correspondence and tracking of incoming/outgoing corporate correspondence to ensure a unified voice for the organization.
  • Develop and write compelling proposals and applications to corporate partners, charitable foundations and individuals (as required) and assist in composition of political and other correspondence to support the policy and communications team.
  • Establish a monitoring process for grants and contributions and maintain reporting requirements in gathering, assessing and preparing reports with associated project leads.
  • Work closely with the finance team to ensure contribution agreements and associated payments are in-line deliverables and associated agreements.

 

Funding management, analysis, and reporting

  • Coordinate and advance funding governance activities: Design and develop systems, tools, processes, and strategies to enable successful end-to-end funding management including central repository representing historical and future organization initiatives.
  • In partnership with project leads, manage the development, coordination and delivery of reports including progress reports, mid-year reports and final reports, as required under the life cycle of the funding agreement.
  • Support internal reporting, project budgets and compliance with funding agreements

 

Knowledge Translation:

  • Develop innovative knowledge translation activities, ensuring alignment to the overall advocacy strategy and strongest impact
  • Conduct literature searches, review, and summarize relevant literature, develop tailored knowledge products such as evidence briefs, research snapshots, infographics, and webinars, write content, facilitate knowledge sharing and dissemination, and write progress reports of research and activities.
  • Customize knowledge translation activities to address Pauktuutit’s unique cultural context.
  • Partner with communications to optimize multimedia and communication elements such as videos, infographics, or interactive online modules to enhance the knowledge translation experience.
  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of KT efforts, adjusting as necessary to optimize engagement and impact

 

Evaluation/Research:

  • Improve internal capacity and effectiveness of Pauktuutit’s ability to make evidence-driven decisions that generate stronger outcomes in making sustainable change
  • Oversee and manage Pauktuutit’s central research repository

 

Leadership

  • As a member of the Management team, participate in human resource planning, hiring and orientations.
  • Act as a day-to-day work supervisor and provide oversight and uphold the organization’s culture, policies, and procedures.

  • Project Management and the ability to influence adoption, implementation and adherence to project management methodologies and tools throughout project lifecycles.
  • Exceptional communication skills – verbal and written, to prepare and present policy analyses, evidence-based decision-making results, policy reports, speeches, and briefing notes and the ability to translate complex ideas and information to diverse audiences.
  • University degree in relevant field (social science, community development, international development, business administration) and/or equivalent combination of education and related work experience
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience, preferably in a not-for-profit environment with focus in the areas of project management, fund development, knowledge translation.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience developing, writing and monitoring grant proposals and applications and developing knowledge translation materials
  • Knowledge of GBA+ and ability to add this lens to proposal development
  • Knowledge and working practice with project management methodologies is preferred
  • Experience managing the financial/budgetary elements when managing initiatives.
  • Experience working with federal, provincial, territorial, northern, urban government officials and funding organizations are a definite asset.
