Pauktuutit Inuit Women of Canada announces Executive Team and welcomes new Board Members

OTTAWA, Ontario – October 7, 2025.  At a regular board meeting held yesterday, Pauktuutit Inuit Women of Canada announced changes to the leadership team. The Board members appointed Looee Mike as Board Chair, Laisa Audlaluk-Watsko as Vice-Chair, and Vanessa ‘Sissy’ Webb as Secretary-Treasurer.

Looee Mike, Interim Chair, who served in the Vice-Chair role since October 2024, now officially takes on the role of Chair.

Pauktuutit also extends a warm welcome to the new members of our board elected at the recent AGM. Crystal Lennie, represents the Inuvialuit Region, Leonie Qaumariaq now represents Nunavut-Iqaluit, Melynda Ehaloak is the Urban-South-West representative, and Rhea Muckpah-Gavin is the Urban-Youth representative. In addition, Louisa Alunik was re-elected as the Urban-Yellowknife member, and Abigail Webb was re-elected as the Urban representative for Happy Valley-Goose Bay.

Looee Mike expressed her gratitude, saying, “I am honoured to be named Board Chair along with this dedicated group of amazing women.”

 

“We are proud to have such committed and experienced board members guiding Pauktuutit,” she adds. “Their continued leadership will be instrumental in moving our mission forward and advocating for the needs and rights of Inuit women, girls and gender-diverse individuals.”

Pauktuutit thanks outgoing Board members, Chair Nancy Etok, Secretary-Treasurer Paige Kimiksana-Kreps, and Lillian Lundrigan. Your contributions and dedication have been remarkable, and we are deeply grateful for all the work you have done to support our communities.
