Ottawa, ON – July 31, 2025 — Pauktuutit Inuit Women of Canada will be hosting its Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Winnipeg, Manitoba for the first time in its 41-year history. The meeting will be at the Wyndham Garden Winnipeg Airport Hotel on September 22-23, 2025. The Board of Directors will report on activities conducted during the 2024/2025 fiscal year. The meeting is open to the public.
Along with regular business, Board Members will be elected to fill openings in the following regions: Nunavik – Ungava, Nunavik – Hudson, Inuvialuit Settlement Region, Iqaluit, NU, and four Urban regions including South West, Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Yellowknife and one urban Youth representative.
“This year’s AGM is especially meaningful to me as it will be my first as President and CEO of Pauktuutit,” says Nikki Komaksiutiksak. “It’s an exciting opportunity to reflect on the important work and successes of the past year, and to connect in person with the passionate Inuit women who serve on our board of directors. I’m honoured to join them as we move forward together amplifying Inuit women’s voices and advocating for meaningful and lasting change.”
In addition, the 2025 Inuk Woman of the Year and Young Inuk Woman of the Year will be selected by the Board of Directors and announced at the AGM.
