Aujourd’hui, Pauktuutit Inuit Women of Canada rend compte de la réunion positive qui a eu lieu vendredi dernier entre la présidente de l’organisation, Rebecca Kudloo, et la commissaire de la GRC, Brenda Lucki. Today, Pauktuutit Inuit Women of Canada responded to an explosive investigation by the CBC into the conduct of the RCMP serving Nunavut’s 25 communities.
On January 15 – 16, 2020, Pauktuutit held a two-day engagement session in Ottawa. The approximately 50 participants included Pauktuutit Board members, who represent and have their roots in communities across Inuit Nunangat.

Today, Pauktuutit Inuit Women of Canada called on Prime Minister Trudeau to immediately implement at least one of the 46 Inuit-specific recommendations contained in last year’s Final Report of the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG) – namely, funding for five new Inuit shelters in Inuit Nunangat and in Ottawa.
Today, Ms. Rebecca Kudloo, President of Pauktuutit Inuit Women of Canada, made the following statement on the delay of the MMIWG National Action Plan.
This is an open call to individuals, firms, or organizations to provide a comprehensive proposal to create a plan for gathering data in Inuit communities that bears in mind the current context and challenges posed by social distancing and restricted travel. The successful applicant will complete the second portion of Phase 1 research in partnership with Pauktuutit.
