OTTAWA, Ontario – October 18, 2024 – At a regular board meeting held yesterday, Pauktuutit Inuit Women of Canada confirmed the continuation of its current leadership team for the next two years. The Board members unanimously agreed to retain Nancy Etok as Board Chair, Looee Mike as Vice-chair, and Paige Kimiksana Kreps as Secretary-Treasurer.

The executive committee members Nancy Etok, Looee Mike, and Paige Kimiksana Kreps, who have served in interim roles since February 2024, are now officially appointed to their executive positions.

We also extend a warm welcome to Laisa Audlaluk-Watsko for Qikiqtani North, elected at our recent AGM, and newly elected member Priscilla Kukshuk representing Urban, Southeast region, and Kailey Webb-Nochasak acclaimed as the Youth representative for Inuit Nunangat. In addition, Louisa Alunik, was appointed as the Urban, Yellowknife representative.

Nancy Etok expressed her gratitude, saying, “I am honoured to continue as Board Chair along with this dedicated group of amazing women.”

“We are thrilled to have such a committed and experienced leadership team guiding Pauktuutit,” she adds. “Their continued leadership will be instrumental in driving our mission forward and advocating for the needs and rights of Inuit women, girls and gender-diverse individuals.
