As part of Aboriginal Aids Awareness Week (November 30 to December 5, 2015) and awareness raising activities on hepatitis C, Pauktuutit Inuit Women of Canada invites all Inuit communities in the four land claims regions to take part in a competition for funding to hold a hepatitis C and HIV/AIDS awareness raising community event. The objective of this contest is to promote healthy living in Inuit communities and to increase the health literacy of Inuit affected or impacted by hepatitis C or HIV/AIDS. Pauktuutit will be holding a similar event in Inuvik on December 5, 2015.

The activities can range from artistic events to information tables to community cultural gatherings with a focus on raising awareness about hepatitis C and HIV/AIDS. You can make this event what you would like it to be! Have fun! Be creative! Make it work for you!

The activities proposed by the communities will be screened by Pauktuutit and brought forward to a panel of judges. There will be one winning community in each of the four Inuit regions.

Interested communities can make their submission to Pauktuutit via e-mail to Soha Kneen (Manager, Health Policy and Programs) at skneen@pauktuutit.ca. For questions or comments, please contact Ms. Kneen via e-mail or call her at 1-800-667-0749, ext. 227.

The winners will be notified via e-mail. Photos from the winning events will be posted on our website and Facebook page.

All events proposals must be submitted to Pauktuutit by November 27, 2015.
